Jennifer Lawrence’s rear end nearly spelled the end for a “Hunger Games” crew member.
The actress revealed she almost maimed a worker on the Hawaiian set of the franchise’s second installment, “Catching Fire,” when she inadvertently dislodged a boulder she was using to scratch her backside.
“There were sacred rocks and you’re not supposed to sit on them because you’re not supposed to expose your genitalia to them,” she said on “The Graham Norton Show.” “I, however, was in a wetsuit for this whole shoot, (and) they were so good for butt itching!”
Things didn’t go according to script for the 26-year-old Oscar winner, though, when one of the hulking rocks was ultimately displaced by her scratching.
“One rock that I was butt-scratching on ended up coming loose, and it was a giant boulder and it rolled down this mountain and it almost killed our sound guy,” Lawrence said between laughs.
Everyone emerged unscathed from the close encounter, but Lawrence – who starred as Katniss Everdeen in the wildly popular movie series – says the natives were alarmed by the abrupt tumbling of one of the sacred rocks.
“All the Hawaiians were like, ‘It’s the curse!’ and I’m over in the corner going, ‘I’m your curse. I wedged it loose with my (backside),'” she said.
The rocky recollection earned a big laugh from the audience and the show’s fellow guests, celebrity chef Jaime Oliver and fellow film-star Chris Pratt.
Lawrence and Pratt are set to star together in the upcoming fantasy film “Passengers,” which is due for theaters on Dec. 21.
